Program Overview

Are you ready to unleash your creativity and explore the world of drawing? Join this engaging and interactive drawing seminar, designed for artists of all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced artist seeking to refine your techniques, this class offers something for everyone.

You'll explore the fundamental principles of drawing, including line, shape, form, perspective, composition, scale and proportion, and line quality and tone. Wes Sherman, an accomplished artist and college art professor, will guide you through various techniques, from sketching and shading to creating detailed and realistic drawings. You'll have the opportunity to work with a variety of mediums, such as pencils, charcoal, and ink, allowing you to experiment and find your unique style.

Each session will include hands-on exercises, demonstrations, and personalized feedback to help you grow as an artist. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in group discussions and critiques, fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment.

Program Instructor

Wes Sherman

Wes Sherman has been an artist for over 30 years. In that time, he has had 50 solo exhibitions and has been in hundreds of group exhibitions. He was Curator and Chair of Exhibitions at the Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, NJ for 12 years, where he had dedicated many volunteer hours to showcasing New Jersey art and artists. He has been a frequent visiting artist at universities and schools and is regularly asked to lead art programs for organizations and clubs. An adjunct professor, Sherman teaches at William Paterson University and Raritan Valley Community College. He received his MFA at Rutgers University, where he studied with his mentor Tom Nozkowski.
