Program Overview

Stay at historic Great Camp Sagamore for a weekend of classes, tastings, excellent food, fireside entertainment, and great regional craft beers. Professional brewers, dedicated home brewers, and beer aficionados sample and discuss what they love, in a stunning Adirondack setting.

Program Activities

  • Beer pairing dinner cruise on stunning Raquette Lake with dinner specially prepared by Executive Chef, Jim Pohl, and crew from Raquette Lake Navigation (nsportation and ticket prices included in registration)

  • Presentations on beer brewing, tasting, the brewery business and more

  • Beer tasting throughout camp, featuring craft brews from regional breweries

  • Saturday evening dinner and music by the campfire 

  • Opportunities for home brewers to share their brews and discuss them with professional brew masters and fellow participants

  • All meals and beer included

John Holl

Editor, Podcast Host, & Author

For more than 20 years John Holl has been covering the beer industry as a reporter and editor. He is the co-owner and editor of All About Beer. On-air he hosts the Drink Beer, Think Beer podcast, the the BYO Nano Podcast, and co-hosts Steal This Beer. His work has appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and NPR. He is the author of several books including The Craft Brewery Cookbook. In 2019, John was "enthroned" by the Knights of The Brewer's Fork of Belgium, descendants of the ancient brewer's guild. 

Em Sauter
Author, Cartoonist, Certified Beer Judge

Called the “Bob Ross of beer” by Imbibe magazine, Em Sauter is an award-winning cartoonist based in Connecticut and is the founder of the website Pints and Panels which teaches visual drinks education. She has an MFA in cartooning from the famous Center for Cartoon Studies, is an Advanced Cicerone®, has her WSET Level 2 in Spirits and is an BJCP certified international beer judge, judging in high profile competitions all over the world. She co-hosts the “All About Beer’’ podcast and has contributed to Forbes, Brewers and Distillers International, Craft Beer and Brewing, Vinepair, Outside, The Alcohol Professor and more. She is the author of four books on beer.
