About Forest Bathing
Forest Bathing is a guided experience that immerses you in the sights, sounds, scents and textures of an Adirondack forest. Guided sensory activities give each person the space to enjoy their own personal experience in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Forest Bathing takes place on gentle terrain and fosters a deeper, more mindful connection with oneself, other participants and nature.
A wellness practice that originated in Japan, Forest Bathing is backed by more than 3o years of evidence-based studies. Mental and physical health benefits of regular nature sensory practice include reducing anxiety and stress hormones, lowering blood pressure and heart rate as well as boosting our immune system’s ability to fight infection and cancer.
Program Description
We are nature. Yet, how do we develop a meaningful and more reciprocal relationship with nature? Discover the wellness practice of Forest Bathing. Learn to use all your senses, sight, smell, hearing, touch and taste to engage with nature in a more intimate and intentional manner to feel your interconnection within the web of life. This weekend will combine guided Forest Bathing experiences with free time for exploration, reflection and relaxation, as well as a workshop to help you adapt the practice for your home environment. Saturday night will be spent around the campfire, storytelling and building a deeper sense of community between participants.
