The Eighth Step presents...
SONGS AT SAGAMORE
Sing Locally, Act Globally
Some of Pete Seeger’s musical children honor his 100th birthday with an intimate and intense weekend in the heart of the Adirondacks, exploring song sharing, songwriting, group singing, performance and community building, as Pete taught us all.
We’ll tour historic Great Camp Sagamore, come together for meals, build camaraderie and make music at every opportunity! Otherwise, you can explore Sagamore and the surrounding Adirondacks, walk the grounds, work on a song, story or poem, play tenpins, create an impromptu jam, take out a kayak or canoe on beautiful Lake Sagamore.
This weekend is presented by The Eighth Step, America’s oldest, continuously running nonprofit coffeehouse & concert stages, founded 1967 in Albany, NY - where Pete Seeger, Richie Havens and other folk veterans performed regularly, and which has helped launch the careers of Dar Williams, Ani DiFranco and dozens more of contemporary acoustic music’s finest contemporary singer-songwriters.
