Sagamore's Wellness Weekend is an opportunity to take a break from the stresses of daily life and work! Take a quiet walk around Sagamore Lake, stretch out with our yoga classes, enjoy a massage, embark on a sunrise paddling excursion, or let your body relax in meditative sessions. Meals this weekend will be filled with healthy choices, including vegetarian options. Instructors and sessions will teach you techniques and activities that can be used everyday to help live a more stress-free life.
Our yoga classes will be led by certified yoga instructor, Sue Taylor.
Many years ago, when Sue was fully immersed in the world of mamahood and craving a bit of time for herself, she carved out time to go to one yoga class a week. That time was a gift. It strengthened her body, quieted her chattering mind, and softened her heart; important things when raising a family and being in the world. Since that time Sue has obtained her 200 Hour Bhakti Yoga certification from Gopi Kinnicutt. She also has Restorative Yoga Level 1 and 2 certifications from Ann Saffi Biasetti, and Yin Yoga certification from Keli Reddy. She is deepening her knowledge of the subtleties of yoga by pursuing a 300 Hour Foundational Yoga Therapy certification under the guidance of Ann Saffi Biasetti, PhD; LCSWR; ERYT-500; C-IAYT of An Embodied Life in Saratoga Springs. Sue offers gentle vinyasa flow, yin, and restorative yoga classes, and guided mediation.
Off the mat, Sue loves to take road trips and hike with her family, as well as knit and read. Her family motto is “Adventure is out there!”
After yoga, enjoy a relaxing massage from licensed massage therapist, Emilie Ashton.
Emilie is an Oklahoma-born, New York-transplant, with a couple of stops in between. She graduated from the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy in Albany, New York and is a long standing member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. A busy and diverse professional and family life inspired Emilie to seek out and study the art and science of compassionate, healing touch in 2004. Emilie continues to broaden her knowledge of massage and the human body through work with her clients and as a student in continuing education whenever possible.
Emilie also enthusiastically carves out time in the Adirondacks whenever her schedule allows, and is thrilled to take part of Great Camp Sagamore’s 2019 Wellness Weekend.
